Vinhomes Ocean Park (Ocean Park 1) is a large urban area east of Hanoi with Pearl Lake, a saltwater lagoon, a shopping centre and a great many residential towers. Because it is a managed residential community, parking a motorbike here is very different from the Old Quarter: you cannot simply leave your bike in front of a lobby or on the pavement, and should instead use the car parks and basements provided. This guide explains where to park depending on what you plan to do, how to combine parking with the internal bus and what to check before handing over your bike.
If you have not planned your route yet, read our guide on riding to Vinhomes Ocean Park by motorbike first, especially the warning about the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway and Thanh Trì Bridge, which motorbikes may not use.

| Option | Best for | Advantages | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| OCP parking point | Parking once and using the internal bus | Start and end point of the OCP1 internal bus | Ask the closing time and price before parking |

| Lots near Pearl Lake and the lagoon | Strolling and the sandy beach | Close to the fun | Very busy at weekends, little shade |

Why it pays to plan your parking
Ocean Park 1 is large, the internal roads are long and many stretches look alike. If you only start looking for a spot when you arrive, you can easily go round in circles or stop somewhere you will be asked to move. Knowing where you will park, especially at weekends when visitors pour in, saves time and leaves more of it for the lake, the beach or the mall.
Your parking options in detail
The OCP parking point and the internal bus
According to VinWonders (29 July 2025), the free OCP1 internal bus runs from 5:00 to 22:30, about every 10 minutes, on a one-way loop of roughly 8 km that takes around 35 minutes, starting and ending at the OCP parking point. A convenient approach is to park at OCP and use the bus between attractions. Before you park, ask the price and closing time, and remember that the bus stops running after 22:30.
Underground parking buildings
VinWonders also mentions several underground parking buildings along the internal route. They are a good choice in rain or strong sun, since your bike stays under cover. Note the level and zone and photograph the nearest sign. Some basements beneath residential towers may be reserved for residents; if in doubt, ask the security staff before riding in.
Vincom Mega Mall basement
If your main plan is shopping, eating or indoor entertainment, park in the basement of Vincom Mega Mall Ocean Park. You will receive a ticket or card; keep it safe, as losing it usually means paperwork. The basement closes with the mall, so do not leave your bike there too late.
Near Pearl Lake and the saltwater lagoon
According to VinWonders, Pearl Lake covers about 24.5 ha with a sandy shore up to 35 m wide, and the saltwater lagoon has a man-made beach. This is the busiest part of the area at weekends and on holidays. Use the parking provided nearby and never leave your bike on the lakeside pavement or footpaths. Open-air lots have little shade, so cover your seat if allowed and bring water.
Cafés and restaurants
When you sit down at a café or restaurant, staff usually keep an eye on your bike while you are a customer. Ask where to park before ordering, and do not leave the bike there once you head off elsewhere.
A safe parking routine in six steps
- Choose an official lot: the OCP point, a parking building, the mall basement or an attended lot.
- Ask the price and closing time: especially if you plan to stay for sunset.
- Take the ticket or card and a photo: with your number plate and where the bike stands.
- Lock up properly: lock the steering, take the key, leave no valuables under the seat.
- Take your helmet or hook it securely: not dangling from a mirror.
- Check the bike when you collect it: mirrors, seat and tyres before leaving.
Respecting the residential area
Ocean Park 1 is home to many families. Do not leave your bike in front of building lobbies, emergency exits or ambulance access, not even for a few minutes. Ride slowly on internal roads, switch off the engine and push the bike into a basement if asked, and follow the instructions of security staff. Being courteous also means you get more help when you need it.
Parking at weekends and in the evening
At weekends many families visit the lake and the mall, so lots near the attractions fill quickly. Arrive early, or park at OCP and take the internal bus. If you stay for the sunset or dinner, check the closing time, choose a well-lit spot and remember that the internal bus stops after 22:30.
Knowing which parking fee applies
According to VnExpress, from 15 October 2026 the motorbike fee at publicly funded parking points on Hanoi’s streets is 10,000 VND per visit. Lots inside the urban area, the parking buildings and the mall basement are run by their operators and may charge differently, per visit or by the hour. We do not quote prices for individual lots; ask clearly before parking and keep your ticket to check against.
If you continue to Ocean City (Grand World)
According to VinWonders, Grand World is in Ocean City, Nghĩa Trụ commune, Hưng Yên province, and has many spacious parking areas. Because it lies outside Hanoi, ask your rental company first whether the bike may be taken to Hưng Yên. When parking there, the same rules apply: official lots, a ticket and the price agreed in advance.
Extra points if you are riding a rental
Photograph the bike’s condition before parking, especially existing scratches. Check the fuel before leaving the Old Quarter using our guide to checking the fuel level at pickup. Ask in advance about the rental company’s roadside support coverage so you know what to do if the bike breaks down or you lose your parking ticket or card.
When the weather turns
The lakeside is open and exposed, so sun and wind are strong. In heavy rain, an underground parking building or the mall basement is the comfortable choice; ride slowly on the ramps, which can be slippery. In summer, cover your seat in open-air lots if allowed and test your brakes after collecting the bike.
With children
If you are bringing children to the beach or playgrounds, allow extra time for parking. Never leave children standing alone between rows of bikes while others are coming and going. Take their helmets with you or secure them well, and check the straps before riding home.
Common mistakes to avoid
A frequent one is leaving the bike in front of a lobby “just for a moment”, for example to pick someone up. Another is not noting the basement level and then searching for the bike for ages. A third is missing the last internal bus and having to walk a long way back to the parking point. A photo of where you parked, a glance at the time and an official lot save you all of that.
Checklist before you leave the lot
- Your ticket or card is intact and you have paid the agreed price.
- Mirrors, seat, lights and tyres are as you left them.
- Helmet strap fastened, phone set to motorbike navigation.
- You know the exit route, so you do not ride against the flow in the basement.
- Enough fuel for the ride back along old National Road 5.
